The critical step you can't ignore if you want to run a successful business

Resources           Put Your Best Foot Forward Have you ever walked out of a restaurant or store because of how it looked? Perhaps the restaurant wasn't very clean or the store's shelves were bare. It's not very inviting to shop at these stores when cleaner restaurants and fully-stocked stores will be nice places to do business. Your customers will need a place to shop, even if your "storefront" is a website. One challenge that entrepreneurs face early in their business is to get their storefront up and running in a way that looks attractive to customers. To get started, make sure you've bought your domain name and hosting (from GoDaddy, BlueHost, and HostGator), which some of you did after last week's email). Get your domain name to point to your hosting (each host will have instructions). Download WordPress (http://wordpress.org) and install it onto your host. This is a free, easy-to-use "platform" that allows you to easily build and manage your website through a simple dashboard. Now comes the design: If you want a free option, WordPress has some attractive themes that are not only budget-friendly but also attractive. If you'd like a website that is customized or that more closely matches your clientele, you can get them for as low as $49 from WNOW or $59 from Premium Themes! (Of course, if you don't want to use WordPress, you are free to use html or other platforms like Joomla or Drupal, but I'm giving you the best "quick-start" method I know). For non-technical entrepreneurs, this step can seem really daunting but stick with it! You only need to do it once to get started (and lots of people have done it before, so there is usually documentation for any issues you might face). And what you learn by doing this step will make a huge difference in how you market your business and in how fast it takes you to set up future businesses.
